FCU adds Michele Dalton to staff!

FCU is pleased to welcome Michele Dalton! Michele currently serves as the volunteer assistant coach at Depaul University and will work the the goalkeepers at FC. 

The former Wisconsin goalkeeper was named the 2011 Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year, 1st Team All-Conference, made the NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region 2nd team and was the two-time team MVP. 

From 2007 to 2011, the Mt. Prospect, Ill. native recorded 5528 minutes of play in 58 matches, securing 29 wins and 13 ties with a GAA of .879. Dalton sits 2nd all-time in saves per game (4.707) in the Badger record books and 5th all-time in career shutouts (24). 

Following her collegiate career, Dalton played for the Philadelphia Fever of the WPSLE in 2012 before embarking on her professional career. 

She played for UMF Selfoss in 2013, posting five shutouts in 17 matches. Dalton was voted team MVP for the team in the Icelandic top division. In 2014, she stood in goal for a team in the Swedish second division, Kvarnsvedens IK. Dalton posted seven shutouts during her time there. 

Dalton returned to Illinois for a two-year stint with the Chicago Red Stars in the NWSL. She helped lead the team to a franchise-best second place finish with her league-leading GAA of 0.917. 

In 2018, the North Carolina Courage signed Dalton on May 18, 2018, but shortly after Dalton would sign on with Apollon LFC in the Cypriot first division.
