Personal Information:
Jim has played soccer since grade school. He was an All-American Goalkeeper at New Trier HS and Amherst College. Jim also coached at Amherst.
Jim has been with the Trevian/FC United Soccer Club for 12 years – coaching almost every age level of boys and girls. Jim admits that coaching soccer has always been a passion for him. Among many wonderful coaching memories, Jim's favorites include: (1) his 2005-2006 U-14 Select Girls team, because "this very special group of girls always had fun, always supported each other and always put their team first," (2) his1994 U-11 Girls team that won the State Cup while going undefeated the entire 1994-1995 year, and (3) the 2002 U-18 Girls team because they were “the most talented and dedicated group of girls I’ve had the privilege to work with” (many of whom went on to play for New Trier’s 2003 and 2004 High School Girls State Championship teams).
Jim's advice to players: always put your team first, try as hard as you can with all your heart, respect the laws of the game, and play because you enjoy playing the game.
When Jim isn't coaching or training his teams, he enjoys working in his yard ("good therapy") – as well as playing tennis, golf and platform tennis, a sport in which he is a two-time National Champion.
